Research

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society funds leading-edge research for every type of blood cancer, including leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and other rare types of blood cancers. As the largest nonprofit funder of cutting-edge blood cancer research to advance cures, LLS has invested nearly $1.3 billion in cancer research since we started in 1949, leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics, and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of cancer patients.

The Research Pillar serves as a liaison between students and organizations such as LLS, CSUF, and many others in order to organize educational networking events. This pillar also collaborates with other committees within the club, such as Education and Health & Wellness, to provide members and the community with presentations and workshops.

What does this mean? How can I help with the LLS Club at CSUF Research pillar?

  • Members can support the Research Pillar by participating in fundraising events such as the Man & Women of the Year Campaign. Teams that raise over $50,000 are given the opportunity to select a research portfolio to support and name the portfolio in memory of a loved one who passed or is a survivor.

  • We encourage students to join the Executive Board because it serves as an opportunity to collaborate with the rest of our team to make a significant difference and network with healthcare professionals and other experts.
